Intraparadox, Interview with Fumani Maluleke. The Emergent Scroll. PAM. 30 August 2024

In this podcast, I sit down with Fumani Maluleke whose solo exhibition at Everard Read’s Circa Gallery, in autum this year, saw him exploit the grass mat as a vehicle to narrate pastoral scenes. Although 2024 has been a busy year for the artist thus far, my interest in this interception was to map out his formative years whilist growing up in the village of Thomo, Limpopo. The listener will come to appreciate references to his training at the Artist Proof Studio and later at Tshwane North College. It is my hope that in our next encounter we will pick up on his formal training once more and reflect on his art and the exhibitions he has held to date. ย ย
