[Dirk Grobler's] is one of a handful of artists around the world who uses the pin screen device as part of their artistic practice. But his art practice did not start with the pin screen. Grobler was academically trained at the University of Pretoria - Fine Arts department in the late 80s wherein he majored in sculpture, he has worked in ceramics and oil paints. As it will emerge in the present podcast he also diversified into stage production that saw him dabble in animation at the turn of the century as a result of a particular stage play that demanded an animation feature as a complementary reature.
[As] is tradition, this pod first sketches Grobler's childhood, and as the conversation develops, the talk moves on to his formative years as an aspirant artist, his achievements, love for cinema and film and the advent of using the pin screen as part of his art practice.
